Our Trip to Washington - Day 4 - Thanksgiving

We woke up in Leavenworth to a cold, clear, frosty morning.  It was a pretty ride up into the mountains, over Stephen's Pass, and through the small towns tucked into the hills.  Because of the latitude, it snows here much lower than it does in the Sierras.  The Pass is only 4,062 feet, but the snow was as deep there as it is at 7,000 feet where we live.

We got to Sultan around noon and checked into our motel, then headed over to join the family and their friends for Thanksgiving feasting and fun.  Karl & Ruth have known the Millers since they all lived back east so they are Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Josh.  I took Isabelle for a walk while dinner was cooking.  Eythan and Natylli came out to play and we had fun.  Emaline was a little shy today, so I didn't make a big fuss with her.  Isabelle asking "Gramma, want to play with me?" was enough to melt my heart!
