Bucks Lake Can Gathering - 2016 - Day 04

Sunday was about packing up by 11:00 with pancakes cooked by Jeffery in the middle.  Things you learn when camping: Always get the griddle hot way ahead of time.  After breakfast we had the hammer toss game,  It involves throwing the hammer into the air, catching it and then immediately pounding the nail of one of your opponents.  It made everyone laugh because that log took a beating between actual nail contacts and a couple of nails got re-pounded by accident.  Last nail standing is the weiner.

The Hammer Toss

Jeffery explains the rules of the game

In one motion, you toss the hammer into the air, catch it, and immediately bang one of your opponents nails.

Darlene fumbles the catch!

Barbara calmly tosses the hammer as Kathleen calmly looks on.

Great shot of the hammer in mid-air

I love Andrea's laughing countenance

Cindy looks ultra-confident

It was decided that Charlotte didn't have to toss it.

I am telling Charlotte, "This nail is Uncle Jeffery's"

Poor Darlene!  We did catch her in some awkward expressions during this game.

Is Bryan left-handed?

Auntie Diana (playing for Dorothy) knocked her own nail out.

Oops

Kyria was the winner, Andrea the runner up!  Charlotte came in 3rd and was very disappointed.

Charlotte was fascinated by Grant's laminated guide to ducks and geese, so he gave it to her.  She loved it!
